We asked Andrew Butterfield, the Managing Director of Corvus Security LTD, a few questions:

Corvus has a wide range of security services. Where do you see the Reconeyez system most useful?

Reconeyez is valuable everywhere where there’s no power. For example:

• Road Cable Jointing bays
• National Grid
• Utilities companies / their sub-contractors
• Civils 
• Construction and demolition

These all have no power on site, which is why this kit is perfect. It is also portable, making it ideal for temporary locations. 

What’s your impression of the Reconeyez system so far?

We are really pleased with the Reconeyez devices. They are solidly built to above military standards, in our opinion. They work very well in remote locations and tricky sites where mains power or solar is not possible.  

Have you received any feedback from your clients?

Our clients are very happy with how we have built them into our own custom ReconDalek* and ReconCam** deployment options with other additional technology to meet their and the contracts’ requirements. 

What do you like the most about the system?

We particularly like the live connection monitoring and battery monitoring which means we can ensure that our client sites are consistently live and protected.  

The batteries being rechargeable also covers the environmental aims of our company. Our previous devices had disposable batteries, but these can be recharged and used again, which is great for the environment. We look forward to further developing our ReconCam and ReconDalek units utilising the Reconeyez kit!

*ReconDalek – Dalek enclosure using a std twin antenna bridge, std siren (utilising the 24v output on a fly lead that triggers our LED floodlights and a voice siren/speaker message)

** ReconCam – Pole mounting system with a non-penetrating ground base and 7ft pole.
